Utter disgust and dismay at the Bomb Blasts in London

7th July 2005

1. My heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives and those who have been injured.
2. My admiration to the emergency services for the way they are doing such a fantastic job.
3. At a time when we were basking in success of the glory of the Olympic bid, criminals who are bent on destroying peace and taking lives; attacked London in the most vicious manner.
4. Those who have done this are criminals and this is a most despicable act. It is our duty to work with the authorities to ensure that our society is safe.
5. There is no room for terrorism in our community and I stand together with everyone, unconditionally, in condemning these attacks in the strongest of terms.
6. Anyone found guilty of such grotesque criminality should be brought to justice.
7. I call on all communities to remain united and calm and work together in this difficult and testing time. Let us not succumb to the will of the criminals but let us defeat them.
